This session is part of the Prevention Track sponsored by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.

Speakers: Sheri Cripe, Purdue University
This session explores how art can transform violence prevention by honoring people’s experiences and supporting healing. Attendees will learn how MESA: Community Empowerment and Violence prevention program uses creative, community-rooted activities to help communities take action to prevent violence. Participants will engage in hands-on art that offer ways to express insights and emotions. These activities can support emotional well-being and bring people together. This session centers the belief that everyone, no matter their background, deserves to live free from violence. Attendees will leave with ideas and tools to use art in their own work.
