Speakers: Amelia Gentile-Mathew; Casey Ballinger
This introductory training is designed for advocates who want to learn what restorative practices and options can bring to survivors of gender-based and sexual violence and their communities. This training is designed to provide an overview to understand the basic principles, values, and processes of restorative practices. Participants will come away with an introduction to the history of restorative practices in the field, and how the language, skills, and processes fit into advocacy. Our hope is that this knowledge will facilitate increased collaboration between advocates and restorative and transformative practitioners, which can elevate caring climates based on respect, responsibility, and repair of harm.
