Speakers: Rosa Beltré and Shandra Ingram, Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence
As we step into the next era of activism, the sustainability of our movement hinges on the well-being and empowerment of our teams. “Unapologetic Leadership: Putting Our Staff First” explores a transformative approach to leadership that prioritizes staff as the foundation of sustainable and innovative work.
In this session, Shandra Ingram and Rosa Beltré will draw on their combined expertise in organizational leadership, advocacy, and capacity building to challenge traditional leadership models. Through engaging discussions and actionable insights, participants will explore the intersection of staff wellness, equity, and innovative practices to redefine what it means to lead unapologetically in the sexual violence prevention and response field. They will share successful strategies their organization has implemented, such as transitioning to a 32-hour work week, providing quarterly self-care stipends, and ensuring staff are compensated above market wages, demonstrating how these approaches contribute to sustainability and innovation.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies to foster a people-centered organizational culture that promotes retention, creativity, and resilience. By prioritizing staff, leaders can create a foundation that sustains their organization’s mission and amplifies its impact.
