This session is sponsored by Hopi-Tewa Women’s Coalition to End Abuse.

Speakers: Lexi James and Jolene Lomayaktewa, Hopi-Tewa Women’s Coalition to End Abuse
This session will strengthen the importance of change and activism at all levels in tribal communities to prevent sexual violence. Starting with the individual, to communities/villages, to organizations and programs to the tribal governments, it is all of our responsibility to end violence, create safe communities from all levels and utilize our own resources to support survivors and service providers. A key objective of this session is to recognize the use of Indigenous culture and language in addressing prevention of sexual violence and how it can be incorporated at all levels. The Hopi-Tewa Women’s Coalition to End Abuse recognizes that “culture is prevention” when addressing sexual violence in Tribal communities.
