Ashley Madness (she/her) is a transgender sex worker based in Los Angeles. Since 2018, she has worked with Sex Workers Outreach Project Los Angeles (SWOPLA). With SWOPLA, Ashley coordinated SWOPLA’s Emergency Relief Fund launch in early 2020 to provide cash aid during the beginning of the pandemic. With support from SWOPLA, other organizations, and sex worker-organizers throughout California, Ashley also helped form Decrim Sex Work California (DecrimSWCA) and helped DecrimSWCA pass SB 357, which decriminalized ‘loitering for the purposes of committing prostitution’. Ashley currently serves on the Steering Committees of SWOPLA and DecrimSWCA. Before coming out as transgender and starting sex work, Ashley attended NYU School of Law where she served as an editor on the Moot Court Board.
