Brenda was born and raised in the Bay Area. She graduated with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She has a background in advocacy and experience in the protection of human rights. Brenda has traveled to over 15 countries to learn more about how other countries and cultures view punishment and healing. As a system-impacted Indigenous woman, she has a long-term goal to be able to advocate and amplify the voices of people facing injustices, by fostering agency and helping them heal while reaching liberation. Through her work, she hopes to serve the people of her community by replacing systems of punishment and oppression with paradigms grounded in healing, relationship, and love.
