Dr. Mary Milano is the Executive Director of the Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission, a position she has held for 15 years. Her prior background includes significant experience in the private practice of law in the international corporate arena, in the not-for-profit sector as an executive in the World Hunger Program, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and in academic life with fifteen yrs as a professor of Christian Social Ethics in a graduate theological program. She is an active author and speaker in continuing legal education and in addition to bar leadership positions recently led the development of the racial inequality initiative of the Illinois State Bar Association. Dr. Milano is also a priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago and pastors a tri denominational congregation formed around hunger/justice engagement.
