Robert Gamboa (he/him) is the Policy Advocacy Manager for the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the world’s largest service provider for the LGBTQ community. As a policy advocacy manager, Robert’s team works on all things LGBTQ including, but not limited to, gender justice, immigration, education, homelessness, civil rights, racial justice, anti-violence, anti-poverty, health equity, youth advocacy, older adult advocacy, and so much more. Robert develops, coordinates, and manages the campaigns necessary to help the Los Angeles LGBT Center achieve the legislative and budgetary progress needed to serve our most vulnerable communities. Mr. Gamboa also served as an appointed city official on the Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board (LGAB) for the City of West Hollywood for ten years, serving as Chair four times. LGAB served as the conduit between the community and the city council responding to any pressing matters for the city concerning the LGBTQ community and making recommendations on equity and inclusion. Mr. Gamboa earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with his Master’s Degree in Public Policy from UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs. Most recently, Robert taught a graduate course on ‘Policy Advocacy in the Real World’ at UCLA’s Luskin as well as presented as guest lecturer at Cal State Los Angeles and Cal State Northridge.
