Leigh LaChapelle (they/them) is a queer and trans human rights organizer currently working as the Associate Director of Survivor Advocacy at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (Cast) in Los Angeles. In their role they support survivor leadership programming and lead local, state, and federal public policy initiatives. Previously, they’ve worked with various grassroots organizations across the rural south building community response to sexual violence, unhoused youth, and harm reduction. With a background in gender studies and psychology, Leigh’s guiding goal in their work is connecting the personal with the political in the realm of human trafficking.
