Payal Sinha currently serves as a Managing Attorney for Tahirih San Francisco Office, a national nonprofit that provides a broad range of direct legal services, policy advocacy, and training and education to protect immigrant women and girls fleeing gender-based violence. At Tahirih, she manages the legal team, oversees the San Francisco pro bono program, and community relations, and provides legal representation at CIS and EOIR. Prior to joining Tahirih, Payal served as a Managing Attorney at Peace Over Violence, a rape, and domestic violence crisis center, where she represented survivors at on-campus sexual assault proceedings, immigration proceedings, and civil state court proceedings. She did legislative advocacy for on-campus survivors, as well as sexually exploited youth. Payal has written and lectured on legal topics relating primarily to U.S. regulations governing immigration laws, sexual assault laws, restraining orders, and domestic violence matters, and has presented at the State-Wide Panel at California Lawyer’s Association, and other State Bars.
