Paola Pamela Cervantes is a Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) who received her MSW degree from California State University, Northridge, where she also obtained her BA degree in Psychology, with a minor in Family Studies and Human Sexuality. Paola’s intersectional identity as a queer woman, daughter of Mexican immigrants, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, helped shape her passion and resiliency. Throughout her career, she has promoted mental health wellness and has gained experience working in schools with immigrants and their children. Since 2021, she’s worked at East Los Angeles Women’s Center as a sexual assault and domestic violence therapist. Her primary focus is providing culturally relevant services to Latine immigrants in the service worker industry and facilitates trainings at ELAWC for promotoras and advocates. She remains focused in providing a safe space to discuss the complexity of sex, gender, immigration, mental health and queer issues in her community.
