Presenters will discuss barriers to housing for survivors; provide an overview of federal policies and programs included in VAWA and at HUD; and share a vision of addressing survivors’ housing needs including transitional housing, home ownership, tenants rights and protections, culturally specific approaches, and efforts to create new housing options. Presenters will guide participants in a listening session to reveal housing needs as well as best practices for survivor housing advocacy and conclude with opportunities to deepen community around survivor housing advocacy.
