The field of power based violence often discusses anti-oppression principles in the work that we do. Unfortunately, those principles are rarely mirrored within organizational culture. Throughout my time working in the field, I have experienced and witnessed outright bias and discrimination. This training discusses the importance of “practicing what we preach” in our line of work. Participants will learn how to improve leadership skills in order to be more inclusive and equitable. Together we will also examine organizational wide policy and cultural practices that can improve the workplace for marginalized staff members.
